Car prices whats a good challenge spec car making these days ,ive seen one for E5000 must need some work because I heard of good ones making E9000 plus,what are yous lads spending on rebuild costs at the end of the year?

Re: Car prices to build a proper spec 205 challenge would cost a lot more than 9 or 10 grand so if it is a good spec and in good nick 9k would not be too pricey,,,you could allow about 1000 euro for end of year as you might need shocks and gearbox stripped and checked,,

WE KNOW ALL THE CARS AND HAVE GIVEN THEM A GRADE WHICH HAS A PRICE ATTACHED WHAT WE THINK THEY ARE VALUED AT. THIS WAY YOU CAN BE SURE OF WHAT YOU ARE GETTING AND HOW MUCH IT WILL BE WORTH IF YOU CHOOSE TO LEAVE THE CHALLENGE AFTER 09. Getting Started Hi,

I was on this page about a year ago asking about costs. Outside of the cost of a car with some spares, i would have a budget of €6k for a season, is this reasonable, or what would be realistic. I am talking entry fees, running costs etc.

Re: Getting Started hi,,you would do a lot of rallying for 6k,,a lot is to do with how hard you are on tyres/brake pads and how much money your co driver is giving ie(notes/accom/entry fees).hopefully you will have friends/family servicing for you,(big saving),,there is not many better ways to spend your 6k (go for it)

A Word of Thanks I would like to take this opportunity to thank everybody to helped me to win the 205 challenge this year.
First of all, Niall for taking the navigators seat. A job well done.
A big thanks to my service crew, Hugh, Gerry, Kerrill, John, Paul & Shaun (wee man). A lot of miles covered on wet days and alot of days away from home. Thanks to Martin of Martisport. The car ran very well all year and I would highly recommend him for all your 205 needs. Fair play to Rory & Barry and all the Challenge team and especially the sponsors.
I would like to thank all the 205 competitors for a great competition all year. It was tough at times but I enjoyed the challenge and I hope somebody can keep the 205 Challenge in Sligo in 2009.
For anyone who is interested in the challenge I can tell you its great fun & craic with a great bunch of lads but its a tough competition but I would highly recommend it.

Congrats Ultin and Niall I cant believe another year has passed of what can only be described as one of the most hard fought championships in Irish motorsport history.It went right down to the wire on the last four stages on Sunday, An unbelievable display of driving and navigation by all participants at every stage of the championship.
As last years winner of the 205 Championship I have to say I was truly proud to see Ultan Mc Gowan my codriver from last year make history in been the first man to both codriver& drive the same car that bought victory to both of us.
Congratulations to Niall Burns on winning the navigator award for 2008. Congrats also to Aidan Cooney and Mark Curran, for what has been an up and down year for the crew.
Thanks to Rory Galligan and all the sponsers for making the Championship in 2008 such a great sucess and we look foward to more of the same in 2009.

2008 Champions Congrats to Ultan & Niall on been crowned 205 champions for 2008, its well deserved, yee competed in all six rounds and finished in the top three all year.

205 Champ Well done Ultan & Niall. You held it together & came out smelling of roses.
I have to thank Rory,Barry,Martin & all who were involved in putting together the challenge. The challenge exceeded my expectations and even though I didn't finish many of them but I still enjoyed them all the same.
If any of you boys want a days practice thats not hard on the car the Co.Cavan Autocross series is starting soon.Only 90euro entry fee. So check our website out for the dates.

It's some achievement to win a co-driver championship and then follow it up with the drivers championship the following year, hats off to you Ultan, much respect. Well done Niall for keeping him on the straight and narrow, a good team.

Without doubt it was the most exciting Challenge so far, everyone was really on the pace considering the spread of event wins and fastest stage times.

The impact of the 205 cars on the class 10 results has greatly improved with many crews taking home crystal after an event showing that challenge cars are able to out it up to rest.

Big thanks to Rory and Barry and all those involved in the Challnge for a great year.

Hard luck to Barry and DJ for what had to be a disappointing finish. Its a shame one of these "senior" competitors couldn't win the championship after supporting it so well for the last 3 years.

On a personal note thanks to DJ for keeping me in the hot seat again this year, sorry I couldn't have sat in it more often!
Thanks also to Tommy Melia for trojan work through the year.
