Martisport was formed at the same time as the Irish 205 Challenge back in 1994 to insure the components of the challenge cars sealed by the organizers were all the same and that all other parts controlled by the regulations were being adhered too by the competitors.
The man behind Martisport, Martin Brady first became involved in rallying whilst working as a mechanic for the garage business run by Rory Galligans family in Oldcastle Co. Meath where he is still employed today. Brady was called upon to spanner the Peugeot 205 and 106 gtis Galligan used during the years from 1998 to 2001 winning class championships in
Ireland and Britain culminating with victory in the Peugeot 106 Super Cup
which earned the prize of a works drive with the factory Peugeot team in the 2002 British Rally Championship. Brady was asked to work with the team and duly took up his position working on the rear of the 206 Super 1600 during a memorable year. So impressed were the team he was asked back the following year where he worked on Gary Jennings car. Some freelance work was taken during 2004 for several drivers at home and in the UK before Galligan returned to the BRC in 2005 this time as a works driver for Mitsubishi UK. Again Brady took up his position with the team and still travels to events today as a key member of the championship winning squad.
Throughout all this he found time to establish the Irish 205 Challenge as perhaps Irelands best one make formula, building every 205 gearbox to make sure they conform, engine building for the majority of the competitors and building and maintaining the last two championship winning cars alongside several other front running drivers.
Martisport has gained experience of WRC, group N, Super 1600 and most of the Peugeot clubman range during his time so if your after a good quote for next years rallying contact Martin on 086 3850071.
